Euromontana will bring the voice of the mountains to the new European Board on Agriculture and Food
Euromontana has been selected as a member of the new European Board on Agriculture and Food (EBAF). This new high-level dialogue forum will promote active dialogue between agricultural stakeholders, civil society and the European Commission.
This consultative body will provide high-level advice to the Commission on the follow-up to the report of the Strategic Dialogue on the future of EU agriculture and will contribute to the work on the Vision for Agriculture and Food, which is expected in February and will provide a roadmap for the future Common Agricultural Policy.
The EBAF will meet in February and the discussions will be chaired by the Commissioner for Food and Agriculture, Christophe Hansen, to whom Euromontana recently sent an open letter to share the challenges and urgent demands of mountain farmers.
Euromontana has been selected together with 30 other European organisations to form the EBAF for the next five years. Euromontana will be represented by Mario Grillo, 1st Vice-President of Euromontana, and will share the messages and demands of Europe’s mountains for better recognition and support of mountain farming!
