Promoting European local food systems

In October 2014, a common position on local food systems was built by several organisations and European networks such as Region Lombardia, UnionCamere Lombardia, ERRIN, Euromontana, KEN, AREPO, “Città del Bio” and PURPLE.  This position paper was presented to the European Commission in 2015.

This joint position paper includes:

• Recommendations to better recognise the value of local food systems.
• Ideas for enhancing the value of local products that do not necessarily have official quality schemes but that bring value to local food systems.
• Concrete demands to combat food fraud and better protect both producers and consumers.
